New Cabinet Line
We would like to welcome Bentwood Custom Cabinets to Studio Mehler. Bentwood is a complete custom cabinet shop from Lancaster Texas and a line we've been watching for a long time. In addition to their complete custom capabilities they have launched a fascinating consumer learning tool on their website. Potential clients can drag and drop various photos and elements from the website into their own unique file to assemble a beginning design file. It's helpful for them and also for their trade professional to get a very good grasp of what the client has in mind. Try it, go to www.bentwoodkitchens.com enter the Bentwood Style Gallery and follow the instructions.
Featured Installation
San Francisco designer Brenda Lam has created a marvelous renovation of a condominium in San Francisco
Project Description : Li Residence, San Francisco, California
A new kitchen and bathrooms bring color, texture, light and subtle luxe to a minimalist modern condo with a view of the Golden Gate bridge. The design reflects the understated refinement of the owner and plays with the ideas of Modern + Ancient.
In the kitchen, the cabinetry - in stainless steel and glossy white - creates a stylish palette with a lustrous glow. Other design elements include honey-colored resin panels cladding the built-in kitchen armoire, a mosaic backsplash made from a continuous length of randomly interwoven glass tiles, an engineered stone counter top, and an earth-friendly cork floor in coffee bean tones. State-of-the-art energy-efficient LED lighting washes the polished surfaces of the upper cabinets and an iconic modern lighting fixture adds functional detail.
In the guest bath, large persimmon-colored floor tiles with warmth and patina contrast tiny pearlescent mosaic wall tiles. The sleek modern vanity cabinet balances the ephemeral cloud-motif drapery, a Chinese cloud pedestal, and antique wooden trunk. In the master bath, hand-made Moorish tiles, inspired by the owner's travels, create a colorful quilt-like floor and contrast the luminous floating vanity cabinet (lit from underneath) and large-scale wall tiles.
